Keep the core day in central Annecy rather than trying to circle the lake. Start from the railway station or your central accommodation, orient yourself using the official town map, and head toward the old town. Confirm your return connection before setting out.

## Morning: old town and canals

Choose the castle only if you want the uphill detour and have checked current admission. Otherwise stay with the lower-town circuit. This choice makes the day flexible without requiring a car.
