The best discoveries are the ones you almost missed.
Take this at your own pace. Open a clue, look around, and mark the creature when you spot it. There’s no timer and no wrong turn worth worrying about.
A little preparation
All clues point to exterior details. Allow 45–75 minutes including looking around; this is an estimate, not a timed route test. Expect paving and street crossings. Children should explore with an adult. Suggested for ages 6–10, with reading help as needed; this is editorial guidance, not an age-tested curriculum.

Praça do Comércio
Start in the great yellow square beside the river. A king looks out over the city. His companion has four legs, a flowing mane, and hasn’t taken a step in centuries.

Praça do Comércio
Stay beside the king, but bring your gaze back down to earth. Walk around the stone pedestal. Among the figures, an enormous ear and a curling trunk give me away.

Praça do Município
A short walk west brings you to City Hall. Look high on its grand façade for a boat with feathered guardians. This pair has a special place in Lisbon’s story.

Rossio Square
Follow Rua Augusta north towards the square with waves beneath your feet. Find a fountain and look right up to its smallest bowl. These water-loving creatures are putting on a show.
Start: Praça do Comércio → Praça do Município → Rua Augusta → Rossio. Exterior details. Allow 45–75 minutes (estimate). Follow local street conditions. voyageowl.com/city/lisbon/creature-safari
