Settle in, then start your first look around at the José I statue in Praça do Comércio. Face the Rua Augusta Arch: the river is behind you and the downtown streets are ahead.
Your first walk: Praça do Comércio → Praça do Município → Rua Augusta Arch → Rossio. Allow 45–75 minutes for the full 1.214 km route with pauses. For a shorter outing, skip City Hall and follow Rua Augusta directly to Rossio. Expect stone paving and street crossings. Follow marked crossings and check the route page for current notices. Step-free access has not been verified. For help with your stay, use your booking app to contact your host. Example prepared 23 October 2026. A finished example you can adapt
The editor starts with a completed Baixa introduction: where to begin, the four-stop route, a shorter version, paving and crossing notes, and an agreed host-contact channel. It deliberately makes no claims about a specific rental, café or opening time.
Use the map and QR together: the printed map gives an overview, while the QR opens the full route with directions and downloads. A visible web address provides a fallback. The route is 1.214 km; 45–75 minutes is an editorial allowance with pauses, not a timed inspection.
Edit for the actual guest and property
Replace the heading and welcome with your accommodation’s wording. Add checked directions from your own front door to the public starting landmark; the example starts at Praça do Comércio and does not pretend to know your address. Keep private access codes outside a public welcome guide.
If you change the destination, load that guide’s starting text and check the entire preview. The Baixa example has an embedded route map; other destinations link to their guide and may use archived, unverified route details.
Keep a version you can reuse
Download your edited text to keep an editable copy, or print the welcome sheet and save a PDF from the print dialog. Edits otherwise stay in the current tab and are lost on reload. The QR is generated in your browser and points directly to the selected public guide.
Use the PDF map download if you need a full-page map alongside a short welcome. Scan the printed QR and open the visible link before sharing. On the sheet, retain the route review date and the distinction between desk review and an on-site check.
Review before each new edition
Check the route’s current notice, transport sources and any recommendations you add. Do not change a checked-on date merely because you reprint. The Baixa geometry was desk-reviewed on 9 September 2026; the completed welcome example was prepared on 23 October.
