Make one palace or garden the anchor of your day. The historic center, station and hilltop sights are separate parts of the trip; leave time to move between them.

If Pena Palace is your priority
Book the palace’s scheduled entry through the official operator. The time on the ticket is for the palace interior, so allow additional time to reach the park and walk from its entrance to the palace. Check the operator’s current access instructions before booking transport.
Cascais
Choose this for a day built around the town and its waterfront. Keep beach time flexible and check the actual conditions when you arrive.

Lisbon’s monthly air-temperature averages don’t describe the water at a particular beach. Use IPMA’s current sea-surface map for regional context, then check the beach’s bathing-water information and local flags. A regional map cannot confirm safe swimming conditions at the shore.
